Mazda RX-8 Current and Previous

Mazda RX-8 Vegas Heat

Finally the summer Las Vegas heat is dying down. Was interesting driving around in it with a hot rotary engine based car for the past few months. Despite all best efforts very few places are accommodating in this city to do custom cooling work, shame that. All is well though nothing overheated too much. Hopefully by the time next summer rolls around I'll either be in a nicer climate, or have all the overheating issues sorted out.

Mazda RX-8

Will soon have pics up of the RX-8. So far have only had the chance to do a few mods to it. Most of them are just minor maintenance type of stuff. The other mods include getting a COBB AccessPort, K&N air intake, and a few cheap mods. Will post more soon.

Cross Country Part 4

A final update to the S4 saga. The venerable S4 has since been traded in for a newer car with fewer problems and less headaches. She will be missed and was a great car for her time, though sadly she had to go. In her place is a shiny grey metallic Mazda RX-8.

Cross Country Part 3

Well it seems the long haul, miles on the car, and my driving style has had an impact on the venerable S4. Through the use of a vag-com from ross-tech, found that my torque converter is on it's way out. Hopefully it will last a few more hundred miles before I have to take it into the shop for a rebuild/replacement.

Cross Country Part 2

Fortunately the drive from Mass to Nevada went mostly without a hitch. During the drive west ran into some interesting weather. Driving in sheer fog in 30 degree weather in Colorado was interesting, as was the fact it was snowing too. A sheer downpour in Illinois did not deter me either. All in all it is good to be here. Still settling in and adapting to the change of location, heat, lack of ocean and the like, but it was worth it.

Cross Country

Things will be slower than usual. I have an exciting new adventure coming up. I will undertake driving from Massachusetts to Nevada. 2800+ miles to be put on my Audi S4. I hope she will take it in stride and with grace. Looking foward to some fun driving.

This amazing piece of British supercar engineering has of all things 625 horses pushing it from 0-60 in a staggering 2.8 seconds.

Though the price is a bit of a let down. I so want one.

The Bugatti Veyron: Is it too much?

With all of it's astounding technological features, capabilities and speed, is this car just too much?
Not even vehicles like Formula 1 race cars can match it's speed, let alone horsepower. It's ability to out-pace just about any other vehicle produced thus far outside of true exotica like jet powered dragsters and other land speed record holders, what will engineers strive to build to out-pace this next?

I hope this example of man conquering machine will help to set the bar a bit higher. I just hope people are willing to take on the challenge of trying to make something that might one day trump it's abilities.

After the blow out and multiple flat tires I've had lately, I ended up getting out the plastic and ordering up these new OZ Racing Ultraleggera rims clad in some slick Pirelli Nero M+S tires. They sure look sweet.

My poor baby had a tire blow out today while I was on my way driving to work. Fortunately I had a spare with a tire mounted to rotate in the same direction as the blowout. Guess I'll be getting some new shoes for her sooner than expected. Looking into getting some O.Z. Ultraleggeras in black.
